How We Can Help

Select which applies to you:

Injured in or about a coal mine
Injured at work in non-coal mining industry
Injured in a motor vehicle accident

Coal Miners Compensation

If you have been injured in or about a mine site or travelling to or from work on a mine site in NSW then you may have an entitlement to claim workers compensation including weekly benefits, medical treatment expenses and lump sum compensation if your injury is permanent. The workers compensation system that applies to coal miners is different to that which applies to other workers. We have extensive experience in coal mining compensation claims.

Including claims for industrial deafness.

Workers Compensation

If you have been injured at work then you may have an entitlement to claim workers compensation including weekly benefits, medical treatment expenses and lump sum compensation if your injury is permanent. Due to changes to the workers compensation laws in NSW over the years the system is complex, we can help you understand your rights and entitlements and assist you to lodge a claim where appropriate.

Negligence Claims

If you have suffered a serious injury at work and your injury was caused by the negligence of your employer or a third party then you may be able to sue the party at fault. Different rights and entitlements  apply depending on circumstances of your claim, including whether you are:

  • Suing your employer or Suing a third party.

  • A worker injured in or about a mine site or a worker injured under the general NSW workers compensation system.

Coal Miners Dust Diseases Claims

Coal miners pneumoconiosis is caused by the inhalation of coal dust and is one of several respiratory diseases caused by long-term exposure to high concentrations of respirable coal dust. It is commonly known as ‘black lung disease’. Related coal mine dust lung diseases include silicosis, mixed dust pneumoconiosis and chronic pulmonary disease. Alarming, we have seen an increase in dust disease claims in recent years. We have extensive experience representing coal miners across NSW. If you require advice regarding your potential entitlements, our team can assist.

Superannuation & Insurance Claims

If you find yourself injured or ill, you may have entitlements through a personal insurance policy including claims for income protection and total and permanent disablement (TPD). No one needs to be at fault in order to claim such entitlements and many benefits are available through your superannuation policy. Claiming on a policy is not straight forward and specialist legal advice is recommended.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

If you have sustained injuries in a motor vehicle accident, you may be entitled to compensation. A motor vehicle accident is not only limited to car accidents and can include incidents involving motorbikes or bicycles. In some cases, you may have entitled if you have been injured as a pedestrian.

Public Liability & Product Liability

If you have suffered an injury in negligent circumstances on public or private land or due to a faulty product, you may be entitled to compensation.

These claims cover a wide range of situations including injuries sustained in slips and falls, recreational activities, boating, bicycle accidents not involving a vehicle, physical assault, animal attacks and faulty products.

Medical Negligence Claims

Medical professionals have a duty of care to their patients and a case of medical negligence, medical malpractice or medical mismanagement happens when treatment falls below an acceptable standard. If you consider that your health care professional, hospital, or other facility has breached their duty of care to you, you may be able to make a claim for compensation.
